February 26 - Nicholas I issued the Organic Statute of the Kingdom of Poland, replacing the Polish Constitution of 1815.
March 17 - seven economically the developed cantons of Switzerland — Aargau, Bern, Solothurn, Lucerne, St. Gallen, Thurgau, and Zurich — created the Seven Concordat (Siebenbund) to advance the program of democratic reforms and create a centralized on the state [1]. April 22 - Nicholas I issued a manifesto on the introduction of the title “honorary citizen” in the Russian Empire.
May 1 - the abolition of the Vilna University by Nikolay I rescript.
May 2 - in the Federal Republic of Central America issued a decree on freedom of religion. Article 11 of the federal constitution of 1825 was repealed, declaring Catholicism a single official religion. [2]. On May 27, representatives of the German liberal opposition gathered 30,000 political demonstrations in the village of Gambach near Neustadt, demanding constitutional freedoms and unification of Germany into a federal republic. Authorities made arrests [3].
May 30 - A French mathematician, Republican Evariste Galois [4] was mortally wounded in a duel in Paris [4]. June 7 - King William IV of Great Britain signed the electoral reform law [5]. br> June 28 - The Allied Diet of Germany abolished freedom of the press, banned political alliances and popular assemblies [6]. July 5 - The Allied Diet of Germany decided to send federal troops to those German states where the threat of overthrowing the existing dynasties would arise [6 ]. July 22 - Jose died suddenly in Schönbrunn Castle F. Francois Charles Bonaparte, Duke of Reichstadt, son and the only direct heir of Napoleon I [7].
August 21 - A single head-tax was introduced in the Federal Republic of Central America, which caused serious unrest in the population [2].
August 30 - The Alexander Column, the world's largest monolithic obelisk type monument, is installed on Palace Square in St. Petersburg. The work on the decoration of the monument continued until 1834.
December 11 - the Egyptian army of Ibrahim Pasha defeated the Turkish army at Konya and began moving towards Istanbul [8].
